Bagtrail (“we,” “us”) is a community tool for planning hiking gear and sharing packs. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. We keep data collection to what the service actually needs — we don't sell your data or run advertising trackers.
Account information. If you sign in, we use Google Sign-In. Google shares your email address, name, and profile picture with us to create your account. We never see or store your Google password.
Profile information you provide. A username (generated from your email, editable), and optionally a display name, bio, and location.
Content you create. Packs and gear lists, gear you submit to the catalog, ratings and votes, trip details (season, trail name, nights), and any map location you choose to pin. Packs you publish and your profile are public.
Anonymous use. You can build packs without an account; those are stored only in your own browser (local storage) until you choose to sign in and save them.
To run the service: save and display your packs and profile, power the community pages, apply compatibility checks, and moderate the catalog. When you submit gear, we run an automated quality check to help keep catalog data accurate (see third parties below).
We use only essential cookies to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
You can edit your profile at any time, and unpublish packs you've shared. To access, export, or delete your account and associated data, email us at hypacharge@gmail.com and we'll take care of it.
We keep your account and content until you delete them or ask us to. Anonymous, browser-only packs live only on your device.
Bagtrail isn't directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data.
We may update this policy; we'll revise the date above when we do.
